Labelexpo Europe – UV Graphics Stand 3C70

At Labelexpo Europe 2019 in Brussels, UV Graphics launched its Ultraflex UFO label press for the international market. The 8-color narrow web flexo press with a maximum width of 370mm is equipped with a corona treater, web cleaner, line sensing web guide, de lam/re lam, turn bar, hot foil stamping with foil saver, cold foil, peel and seal attachment and a quick change Hybrid LED UV system. The press also has a Vari-Gap die cutting station, sheeting station and an integrated LED monitor. The press has the smallest footprint in the industry and is made for a clean room environment.

The features of this press include a 100% register on print job startup for achieving full register within 3 meters waste. The press at the show will run at 200 meters a minute using multiple substrates including printing on 12 micron BOPP film, shrink sleeve, polyester film, in mould labels, pressure sensitive material and heavy boards with the highest quality of register.

In live demonstrations of this machine, UV Graphics used LED inks, high build tactile coatings, special effects, hot foil and cold foil. UV Graphics is also showing its own latest video plate mounter with many new features making it the fastest plate mounter in the industry and the latest range of UV curing systems and slitter rewinders.

This is the first time that UV Graphics is demonstrating the Ultraflex UFO series of flexographic presses at an international platform. “This show is extremely important for our company as this would be an international launch for our presses. Our company is known for its UV systems and plate mounters and we expect an overwhelming response and also look forward to meeting as many potential customers as possible. We are expecting to close 6 to 10 orders during the show,” says Abhay Dutta, director of UV Graphics. At Labelexpo Europe, UV Graphics is aiming at long run and short run label printers looking for international quality label printing equipment and startups looking for immediate growth.

The Covid-19 pandemic led to the country-wide lockdown on 25 March 2020. It will be two years tomorrow as I write this. What have we learned in this time? Maybe the meaning of resilience since small companies like us have had to rely on our resources and the forbearance of our employees as we have struggled to produce our trade platforms.

The print and packaging industries have been fortunate, although the commercial printing industry is still to recover. We have learned more about the digital transformation that affects commercial printing and packaging. Ultimately digital will help print grow in a country where we are still far behind in our paper and print consumption and where digital is a leapfrog technology that will only increase the demand for print in the foreseeable future.

Web analytics show that we now have readership in North America and Europe amongst the 90 countries where our five platforms reach. Our traffic which more than doubled in 2020, has at times gone up by another 50% in 2021. And advertising which had fallen to pieces in 2020 and 2021, has started its return since January 2022.

As the economy approaches real growth with unevenness and shortages a given, we are looking forward to the PrintPack India exhibition in Greater Noida. We are again appointed to produce the Show Daily on all five days of the show from 26 to 30 May 2022.

It is the right time to support our high-impact reporting and authoritative and technical information with some of the best correspondents in the industry. Readers can power Packaging South Asia’s balanced industry journalism and help sustain us by subscribing.
